What is a Spinal Brace?
NEOPS is proud to be a leading provider of spinal bracing in the United States. Most modern day spinal braces are thin, flexible, and low-profile enough to fit under most clothing. Spinal braces are designed to achieve one or more of the following goals:
-
Prevent injury
-
Facilitate recovery from injury
-
Reduce pain and swelling
-
Correct a deformity
Patients may require a spinal brace for a variety of reasons. Spinal brace selection and design will depend upon each patient’s condition, anatomy, and functional goals. NEOPS will work with you and your team to ensure you receive a spinal brace that maximizes your functionality and minimizes your pain and risk of injury.
How Will a Spinal Brace Help?
Spinal braces are extremely effective in offering protection and pain relief and in allowing patients to resume their activities of daily living. For you, this may mean completing household chores, shopping, playing with your grandchildren, or higher impact activities such as sports and traveling. Treating spinal injuries involves the coordinated care of a team of medical experts, and NEOPS is proud to partner with specialists in the fields of orthopedic surgery, physical therapy, manufacturing, and 3D printing. NEOPS will work with you and your team to ensure you receive a spinal brace that maximizes your functionality and minimizes your pain and risk of injury.
In general, there are two categories of spinal braces:
Off-the-Shelf Spinal Bracing
Off-the-shelf (OTS) spinal braces are ideal for patients who do not require anatomical modifications or functional customization. OTS spinal braces are available for a variety of upper- and lower-spine conditions and are designed to reduce pain and swelling, protect against injury, and optimize mobility and functionality. OTS spinal braces are typically lightweight, breathable, and low-profile enough to fit beneath most clothing. Hover over the images below to explore some common OTS spinal brace designs.
Custom Spinal Bracing
Custom spinal braces are often necessary for patients who require specific anatomical modifications or functional customization. This can be a result of a patient’s medical condition, functional goals or the presence of anatomical features that disqualify OTS bracing options. Custom spinal braces are available for a variety of upper- and lower-spine conditions and are designed to reduce pain and swelling, protect against injury, and optimize mobility and functionality. Like OTS spinal braces, custom spinal braces are lightweight and low-profile enough to fit beneath most clothing. Custom spinal braces also allow for unique designs for patients who want to add some personality to their brace! Hover over the images below to explore some common custom spinal brace designs.
